A new hydrogen-powered SUV has been revealed…

NamX, an Afro-European industrial and tech company, has unveiled a new hydrogen-powered SUV called the HUV.

It has been created in partnership with Italian design firm Pininfarina, who has previously worked with BMW, Jaguar, Volvo, and other car manufacturers.

Claiming to be able to achieve a range of almost 500 miles the car features a fixed hydrogen fuel tank and can also be refuelled with six removable capsules, together they power either a top-of-the-range 542bhp or entry-level 296bhp electric motor.

Hydrogen-powered cars, otherwise known as fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs), are more efficient than conventional internal combustion engine vehicles and produce no harmful tailpipe emissions. By only emitting water vapor and warm air, they reduce pollution and improve air quality.

The firms say prices for the HUV will start at £55,640 but could rise to as high as £81,315, depending on options.

The futuristic design has been based on the science fiction and muscle cars from the 1950s and 1960s.

Scheduled to be released at the end of 2025, it will be available in either top-spec four-wheel-drive or rear-wheel-drive forms.
